What are the costs involved in exporting your car?

1. RDW export costs

  • Cost: €10 to €15
  • At the RDW you pay a small amount to deregister your car from the Dutch registration register. This is mandatory for export.

2. Export registration and insurance

  • Cost: €75 to €150 (depending on term)
  • If you drive the car abroad yourself, you will need a temporary export license plate, including insurance.

3. Transportation costs

  • Cost:
    • Within Europe: €300 – €800
    • Outside Europe: from €1.000
  • Are you having the car transported? Then there are costs associated with transport by truck or ship, for example.

4. Administrative costs and documentation

  • Cost: €50 to €200
  • Consider costs for documents such as the export registration certificate, customs papers and any translations.
